The Swiss Chalet National, is one of the four men's majors that highlight the World Curling Tour season. Players will be battling for the all important Canadian Team Ranking System (CTRS) points available at the event.

Round robin wins for teams not making playoffs will earn 3.000 points per win
The qualification deadline is November 23, 2009.

Event Description
Scheduled to take place at the Sleeman Centre in Guelph, Ont. from January 6-10, 2010, The Swiss Chalet National is an international 18-team tournament featuring the world’s top curling teams.
The Swiss Chalet National will be contested just six weeks prior to the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver and will include Canada’s 2010 Olympic representative. Among the international 2010 Olympic qualifiers who are expected to compete at The Swiss Chalet National include reigning World Championship gold medallist David Murdoch (Lockerbie, Scotland), reigning World Championship bronze medallist Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, Norway) and 2006 Olympic bronze medallist John Shuster (Chisholm, Minnesota).
Other teams expected to take to the ice at The Swiss Chalet National include World Champions Kevin Martin (Edmonton, Alta.), Glenn Howard (Coldwater, Ont.), Randy Ferbey (Edmonton, Alta.), Wayne Middaugh (Etobicoke, Ont.), Jeff Stoughton (Winnipeg, Man.), Kerry Burtnyk (Winnipeg, Man.), as well as Olympic gold medallist Brad Gushue (St. John’s, Nfld.).
